Learning Programs

Media Literacy Community Courses

arrw 4th and 5th graders -- Basic Internet dynamics with hands-on projects. Two formats: Four 1-1/2 hour sessions, designed as afterschool supplement program and one 2-3 hour sessions with older student coaches.
arrw Middle School -- Hands-on and discussion program about Living Online. Two 1-hour sessions.
arrw Parents and Educators -- Training programs for parents and teachers of kids 3rd-7th grades – how to communicate, what to expect, how to establish online behavior trust and communication at home --- One 2-hour session – can expand to a multisession series.

Family Technology and Learning Videos and Web Tools

iKidTools

iKidTools.com -- Each episode has a quirky look at how kids are connecting online -- what tweens are up to for kids and the parents who are trying to understand them better. Online now on Blinkx.com.

How2Kids Show --In 2006 and 2007, we produced "How2Kids," which can be seen on KGEM-TV as a half-hour show, while being available as individual segments at http://www.how2kids.com -- how kids can learn to do great things, especially using technology. Online now on Blinkx.com.

ikidworld iKidWorld.com portal -- We continue to develop our kids' media literacy/resource portal, iKidWorld.com.

Music as History and Storytelling

Live Folk & Fun Concert Series -- We continue our series of Southern California live concerts with a variety of local libraries, museums, schools, and other organizations, teaching kids about history and culture through traditional folk music, based on the live concert work and cable show (see below) of Gigi & Mike (www.gigiandmike.com).

gigimike "Let's Sing Together" -- Creation of our monthly children's show "Let's Sing Together" in 2005, which can be seen on KGEM-TV and selectively on Google Video and www.gigiandmike.com.
Crunchy Party Mix "Crunchy Party-Mix" Album -- Our first children's album -- "Crunchy PartyMix" -- continues broad distribution on CDBaby, iTunes, MSN Music, eMusic, Rhapsody, Wal*Mart.com, and other digital sources. This is part of our mission of exposing children to history through traditional folk music
